Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery – Children’s Library Programs

Baby Rhyme Time gives children aged 0–2 and their parents, carers or friends a relaxed opportunity to share songs and rhymes. These free sessions run at 10 am on Thursdays during school terms, with no booking required. The library also holds children’s activities and contributes to Carnarvon’s school holiday program. Carnarvon PCYC – safeSPACE™

Young people can take part in recreational, cultural and developmental opportunities supported by qualified youth workers through safeSPACE™. Carnarvon PCYC also lists basketball, futsal and boxing activities for children and young people. The centre is at the corner of Whitlock and Douglas streets, Carnarvon. Mayu-Mia Youth Hub

Operated by the Shire of Carnarvon, the hub runs youth-focused programs, workshops, events and activities throughout the year. Staff support participants’ safety and wellbeing during youth service activities. Parents and guardians can register a child for a named activity using the Shire’s registration form. The hub is at 7 Egan Street, Carnarvon.

🌱 Child development and mental health support

WA Country Health Service – Child Development Service, Carnarvon

Families concerned about a child’s development can access free support through individual appointments, groups or parent workshops. Services may be provided in person, by phone or through secure telehealth. Children must be under 16, hold an eligible Medicare card and live in country WA. Families do not need a diagnosis or GP referral to make contact. The Carnarvon service is in the Outpatients Building on Cleaver Street; phone (08) 9941 0506.

WA Country Health Service – Midwest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

CAMHS provides specialist assessment, care planning, treatment and referral coordination for infants, children and young people up to 17 who have difficulties suggesting a serious mental disorder or a high risk of one. Self-referrals and referrals from families, carers or professionals are accepted. Contact the service to arrange an appointment at its Carnarvon clinic in the Outpatients Centre at Carnarvon Health Campus.
